WHO WE ARE

History:

Founded in 1919, BPW has a long track record of promoting equity for women in the workplace. As the first organization to focus on issues of working women, BPW is historically a leader in grassroots activism, policy influence and advocacy for millions of women. Halifax BPW was founded in the 1980’s, and is dedicated to the support and advocacy of working women within the Halifax area of Volusia/Flagler and throughout the State of Florida.

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month to share ideas, meet new people and find ways to help women in the Volusia/Flagler communities. We are a local affiliate of BPW Florida, and come together to support our members and the community as a whole. Donations are always welcome for the scholarship piggy bank with proceeds benefiting The Education Foundation of BPW/FL. Help us continue the legacy of helping women achieve their goals and dreams.

Objectives:

Today’s BPW objectives are:

• To elevate the standards for women in business and professions.

• To promote the interests of business and professional women.

• To bring about a spirit of cooperation among business and professional women of the United States.

• To extend opportunities to business and professional women through education along lines of industrial, scientific and vocational activities. Membership is open to anyone interested in these goals.

“BPW strives to achieve equality for all women in the workplace through advocacy, information and education.”
